ANA and JAL have seen remarkable recoveries in their international flight bookings for a big holiday period in Japan

ANA and JAL have remarkably increased their international flight bookings for this coming Golden Week, a big holiday period in Japan starting April 29 2022, because of ease of the travel restrictions. 

Receiving more bookings on international connection flights between Asia and North America via Japan, ANA increased international flight bookings by 463.9% year on year to 64,896, despite a 77.3% decrease over the same period of 2019, and the booking rate was up 50.5 points to 66.2%.

JAL’s international flight bookings also soared by 321% to 69,170 year on year (a 73% decrease over the same period of 2019), and the booking rate was up 41 points to 60%. According to JAL, Hawaii flights have already been full on several days during the period, and bookings including Guam were up 762.2% to 3,259 with the booking rate of 77.2%. 

Both of the airlines have increased domestic flight bookings. ANA increased those by 46.9% year on year to 783,788 (a 41.7% decrease over the same period of 2019), and the booking rate was up 7.6 points to 51.2%. Bookings for Tohoku and Hokuriku particularly increased by 85.5%.

JAL also increased those by 100% to 801,340, and the booking rate was up 14 points to 59%. Like ANA, bookings for Tohoku and Hokuriku were up 156.9%.
