Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) announced that the number of Japanese overseas travelers roughly doubled year on year to 43,200 in July 2021. The monthly result, however, was still down 97.4% compared to two years ago (1,659,166 travelers). 

International flights departing from six major airports in Japan were 2,758, 3.5% more flights than a year ago, and available seats were up 13.3% year on year to 675,930, according to OAG.
