Instagram launched a restaurant booking service in partnership with GURUNAVI, a major online restaurant booking platform, since October 23 2018. A restaurant in Japan listed on GURUNAVI can add an action button for booking a seat on its business profile of Instagram. 

This is the first action button service for Instagram in Japan. It provides a user with a seamless service from search to booking with the app on.

Accounts viewing business profiles in Japan reach 2 million or more everyday, out of which 500,000 visits restaurants a day, according to Instagram. GURUNAVI expects that Instagram is a new opportunity of bridging between consumers and restaurants.
