Tokyo Metro launches a new service to enable a passenger to get on subway with touch payment of credit card or QR code

Tokyo Metro will start a new service to enable a passenger to get on subway with touch payment of credit card or QR code for 24-hours digital ticket on March 22 2025, using e-ticket booking platform Linktivity’s scheme.

For the service, you need to purchase a 24-hours ticket for touch payment of credit card or QR code on the Tokyo Metro website in advance, and you can go through an automatic gate at a station after you scan a 24-hours digital ticket on the gate.

A 24-hours digital ticket costs 700 yen for touch payment of credit card  and 700 yen (adult) and 350 yen (child) for QR-code.

Tokyo Metro plans to offer a deferred payment service for touch payment of credit card in the future,

Linktivity will expand the digital ticket solutions to other railways and the combined products with tourism attractions particularly for inbound tourists to Japan and intends to sell them on the linked global OTAs.
