
Based on official statistics data in March 2016 released by each of the tourism authorities, Japanese travelers increased by 26.2% to 43,800 for Australia, by 7.6% to 11,120 for New Zealand but reduced by 3.9% to 17,858 for Canada on a year-on-year basis.
Japanese travelers for Australia resulted in double-digit growths for three months in a row in 2016 and 40,000 or more for two months in a row. In reverse, Japanese travelers for Canada resulted in the first year-on-year reduction since July 2015.
