Hankyu Travel International, a Japanese travel agent, will charter ‘Le Jacques Cartier,’ a cruise ship of France-based Ponant, in March and April 2027 to offer Setonaikai cruise tours to luxury international travelers to Japan. Hankyu will become the first Japanese travel agent that charters a Ponant ship for inbound travelers to Japan.
The planned cruise will tour to popular destinations in Setonaiki or western Japan from Kobe Port and offer local experiences in each port of call. After finishing arranging ports of call and local activities, Hankyu will whole-sell tours to foreign travel companies.
Ponant is well known globally as a ‘luxury expedition cruise’ operator. 9,900 tons ‘Le Jacques Cartier’ accommodates 184 passengers in 92 cabins.
