Oriental Land, a Tokyo Disney Resort operator, signed a basic agreement with Nippon Yusen and Yusen Cruise for a joint cruise business based in Japan in 2028. They aim to launch short cruises from ports in Tokyo Bay in 2028, operating a 140,000 tons ship with 1250 cabins for 5,500 passengers max.
Under the basic agreement, Yusen Group will oversee the cruise business by Oriental Land, including consultation, ship management and operation management. They aim to realize ‘Family Entertainment Cruise’ combining theme-park hospitality by Oriental Land with cruise experiences on Asuka, the largest cruise ship in Japan, by Yusen Group.
