Interests in Osaka Kansai EXPO don’t rise in Japan, but more young people intend to visit several times

The latest Mitsubishi Research Institute (MRI)’s research in October 2024finds that the ratio of interests in Osaka Kansai EXPO 2025 remained at the same level, and the ratio in eastern Japan except Tokyo Metropolitan area particularly reduced from 22.3% in April 2024 to 16.3%. 

The ratio of intention to visit the EXPO also reduced from 27% previously to 24% nationwide. The ratio in Kansai area was down from 43.5% to 36.3%, and in eastern Japan except Tokyo Metropolitan area from 21.9% to 16.4%. 

On the other hand, the ratio of intension to visit the EXPO several times increased from 15% previously to 18.8%, and among 20 to 29 years old particularly, the ratio was up from 15.2% to 29.4%.

Based on the results, MRI analyzed that the difference between people looking forward to the EXPO and people not is bigger than before.
