Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) reported that the number of Japanese outbound travelers was down 38.8% to 930,200 in June 2024 compared to the same month 2019, worse than 34.5% down in May 2024. Compared to a year ago, the monthly result was up 32.3%.
According to OAG, international flights departing from six major airports in Japan (Narita, Haneda, Kansai, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Sapporo) were still down 8.4% to 19,645 and available seats down 5.9% to 4,600,276 compared to June 2019.
Haneda increased flights by 29.1% to 4,522 and available seats by 23.5% to 1,118,606, and Fukuoka also flights by 9.2% to 1,834 and available seats by 16.4% to 394,069.
