Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) reported that the number of Japanese overseas travelers was up 0.5% year on year, reaching 1,630,000 in September 2018 (preliminary figures). The monthly growth rate was much lower than 7.7% in August 2018. The total for the first nine months of 2018 reached 14,004,900 (+44%).
