
The latest Sony Life Insurance’s survey on senior lifestyle finds that the ratio of smart phone users reached 34.9% in Japan. Tablet users accounted for 19.5%, and 18.5% of seniors were interested in humanoid.

In terms of use of SNS or free message app, the ratio of Facebook users was 25.2%, almost unchanged since 2013, while the ratio of LINE users rose to 23.1%, 11.8 higher points than 2013 or 6.9 higher points than 2014.

The survey also asked about what they did for their grandchildren to 320 seniors with grandchildren. As a result, the most answers were ‘giving pocket money (72.5%),’ followed by ‘going to restaurants together (53.1%), ‘playing together (44.7%)’ and ‘traveling together (29.4%).’
In cooperation with Net Asia, the survey was conducted online to 1,000 50 to 79 years old males and females on July 21 and 22 2015.
