The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has produced “Hong Kong MICE Guide 2014/2015” targeted at MICE oriented travelers, and started to distribute from August 1. The guide introduces special programs for MICE, event venues and privileges, includes hotel list with MICE related information and presents advantages of MICE in Hong Kong.
According to HKTB, the number of Japanese travelers visiting Hong Kong in the first half of the year (January to March 2014) increased 4.7% compared with the same period last year, showing a steady recovery. MICE market such as company meetings and incentives were strong as well. 167 groups had visited Hong Kong using “Hong Kong Value Plus 2014/2015”, a HKTB campaign targeted at business groups. The number of those groups increased 51.8% compared with last year, and the figure keeps growing after August too.
