The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO)’s statistics in July 2016 finds that Japan received 61,300 visitors from Thailand (+18.2%), 18,000 from Singapore (+4.7%), 25,000 from Malaysia (+25.3%) and 26,800 from Indonesia (+4.6%). All of the monthly results were record-high for July.

JNTO analyzed that the monthly growth of visitors from Thailand might result from five national holidays in a row in July and local promotional activities. In Malaysia, five consecutive national holidays and a joint promotion campaign with Air Asia boosted the inbound travel market. In Indonesia, a joint advertising campaign with local travel companies contributed to the monthly growth despite a low travel season.
