Forty percent of 29 years old or younger Japanese use smart phone only for Internet

Nielsen Digital’s “Digital Trends in the First Half of 2018″reveals that the number of Japanese Internet users on smart phones increased by 9% year-on-year, reaching 67.7 million users a month. The report also finds that 64% of all 18 years old or older use smart phones. The growth rate, however, has been smaller since 2014.

Among 16 to 29 years old Internet users, the ratios were 41% for smart phones only, 56% for both smart phones and PCs and 3% for PCs only, as the graph below shows:
