Tokyo Metro and Toei Transportation has launched a new service for international visitors to get all-day ‘Tokyo Subway Ticket’ from a ticketing machine at a station with QR code provided in their online payments.
For the ticket, an international visitor used to purchase an electric voucher from a local agent before departure and redeem it with ‘Tokyo Subway Ticket’ at an airport or a designated station in Tokyo.
The new QR code service is available 100 subway stations in Tokyo. The QR code is provided by 42 global and Japanese OTAs and information websites for international visitors to Japan.
