Japanese 10’s female smart phone users use Twitter for hot topics and Google for troubleshooting

The JustSystems survey shows that the No.1 online tool to search hot topics on smart phone was Google (38.1%), followed by Twitter (29.8%). As far as 10’s is concerned, Twitter was used most (58%), followed by Google (19.8%), and for 10’s females particularly, the ratio of Twitter was extremely high with 66%.

The same trend was found in search of leisure information. For search of hot leisure spots, Google was top overall (44.7%), followed by other services (14.2%) and Twitter (12.2%). Among 10’s females, Google and Twitter tied with 31.9%, followed by Instagram (10.6%).

For search of unique and amusing leisure spots, Google was also top overall (46.5%), followed by other services (15.2%) and Twitter (10.8%). Among 10’s females, however, Twitter was top with 31.9%, followed by Google (29.8%), Instagram and other services (10.6%).

For troubleshooting or new information, Google dominated with a share of about 60%, regardless of generation or sex.

The survey was conducted on self-typed online search Fastask for 409 10’s to 50’s males and females in the period from May 20 to 23 2016.
