JTB and Panasonic work together for the itinerary management system and empty-handed travel to support international visitors to Japan

JTB and Panasonic have jointly developed Traveler Relationship Management (TRM), the itinerary information management platform for international visitors to Japan, which is linked with a variety of tourism-related services by providing JTB’s owning traveler data through the Panasonic’s cloud system.

One of the available services is JAPAN FITTER, a multi-language customer support tool, jointly developed by Panasonic and National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT). With the voice translation service by four different languages, JAPAN FITTER is expected to provide a concierge function for international guests by Japanese staff and information on tourist attractions, traffic or medical organizations.

Another available service is LUGGAGE-FREETRAVEL, the support system for empty-handed travel, working with Yamato Transport based on traveler information registered in TRM. Without a written application, an international traveler can use the luggage transport service by Yamato.

JTB and Panasonic plan to commercialize the TRM by the end of FY2016 after demonstration tests. In September 2016, demonstrations for JAPAN FITTER started in 27 hotels, ryokans and tourist information offices nationwide.
