Airbnb announced popular family destination in the world in 2017 based on the growth rate of bookings of family-typed listings. The most popular destination was Osaka, followed by Kyoto and Melbourne.

Among family travel experiences, the ratio of selecting a new destination was 43%, while the ratio of combining new and old destinations was 45%.
The survey discovered interesting trends, such as ‘A father is a decision maker for travel plan and local activities (42%)’, ‘Children like experiences better than sightseeing (79%)’ or ‘Cultural or educational elements are more important in choosing a destination (78%).’
