The survey on the usage of smartphones, conducted by a digital marketing company IREP directed at the new working adults and the bubble economy generation, revealed that both age groups use smartphones frequently: 90% use smartphones to access the Internet at least once a day and over 80% use smartphones while waiting for such as a train.

However, each age group access to different Internet services through smartphones. 53.3% of the new working adults use the smartphones as a terminal to access to the social medias, which is about twice as much of the bubble economy generation (27.3%.) In contrast, 41.3% of the bubble economy generation utilize them to browse latest news, which far exceed those of the new working adults (27.3%.) IREP analyzes that the new working adults place much value in social (connection) and the bubble economy generation place much value in acquiring latest news in their use of smartphones.

In terms of tends of applications used, the new working adults installed 28 applications and the bubble economy generation installed 32 applications, but the number of the applications actually used in past 2 months reverses by 13 for the new working adults and 11 for the bubble economy generation. This shows that the new working adults install only the applications they favor but the bubble economy generation tend to tentatively install noticeable applications.

Furthermore, more than 60% of the new working adults and more than 40% of the bubble economy generation use LINE, it revealed to have more users than Twitter or Facebook.

This survey was conducted from June 8 to 20 on the Internet, targeted at 300 each from the new working adults graduated in 2013 and the bubble economy generation (graduated in 1988 to 1990).
