Visitors from Taiwan and Hong Kong to Japan are more interested in what Japanese people eat at home, paying attention to local supermarkets

Geelee media group, operating Japan travel information website for Taiwan and Hong Kong, announced its survey results that more than 90% of visitors from Taiwan and Hong Kong want to buy foods as dinner in department stores or supermarkets in traveling in Japan.

The most preferred food is ‘daily dishes( with the ratio of 83.6%, followed by ‘sweets’ with 80.3%, ‘bento box’ with 64.3% and alcohol beverages.

81.6% said that they want to eat what Japanese people eat in daily life, and 69.9% said that they want to experience a variety of foods at once. 

Geelee media group analyzed that shopping in department stores or supermarkets in Japan becomes a’ sub-purpose’ for many travelers from Taiwan and Hong Kong to Japan.
