Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced that visitors to Tokyo in 2017 were up 1.8% year on year to 537.1 million in total, which comprised 523.3 million Japanese visitors (+1.8%) and 13.77 million international visitors (+5.1%).
Tourism spending in Tokyo was estimated at 5,844.8 billion JPY in total (+2.7%), which consisted of 4,709 billion JPY by Japanese visitors (+2.3%) and 1,135.8 billion JPY by international visitors (+4.4%).
