Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) reported that the number of Japanese outbound travelers was down 46.7% to 888,800 in April 2024 compared to the same month 2019, though it was a 58.7% increase compared to a year ago.
According to OAG, international flights departing from six major airports in Japan (Narita, Haneda, Kansai, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Sapporo) were still down 9.8% to 19,311, and available seats down 7.7% to 4,540,457 compared to April 2019.
Haneda increased flights by 27.7% to 4,468 and available seats by 21.9% to 1,106,989, and Fukuoka also flights by 7.5% to 1,840 and available seats by 11.0% to 394,937.
