Japanese Agriculture Ministry launches ‘Farm Stay Promotion Plan’ with a goal of 7 million guest nights in 2025

Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan (MAFF) launched ‘Farm Stay Promotion Plan’ for the next three years by 2025, setting a goal of 7 million guest nights, out of which 10% account for international travelers. 

MAFF encourages local communities to have entrepreneurships for attraction of first timer travelers, extension of stays and an increase in repeaters through the plan in order to revitalize agriculture, forestry and fishery villages. 

The plan supports local communities for enrichment of farm stay contents, financing advisory or DX for expansion of consumption opportunities.
