Resorttrust, a Japanese hotel operation firm, will begin a demonstration program to propose personalized wellness activities in their hotels by analyzing the peripheral blood circulation of guests through an optical sensor installed in a ring-shaped device called a ‘smart ring’ and an algorithm developed independently by Murata Manufacturing.
Based on the analyses, a Resorttrust hotel proposes activities fitted with personal health conditions of guests, such as spa,, esthetic treatments or gym, expecting to offer a new value of ‘hotel x wellness.’
Murata Manufacturing has developed a technology that estimates the peripheral blood circulation status by acquiring photoplethysmograms (PPG) at multiple wavelengths from an optical sensor installed in a smart ring and analyzing it with a unique algorithm.
