Japan Tourism Agency announced that spending in Japan by international visitors for three months from July to September 2022 was estimated at 163.1 billion JPY or 310,000 JPY a day. The number of international visitors for the period totaled 520,878. The agency said the result was higher than usual because of more long-stay travelers, such as business travelers, VFR travelers or international students,
The survey was conducted at seven International gateways of Sapporo, Haneda, Narita, Chubu, Kansai, Fukuoka and Naha only.
